“Once upon a time in the biggest and deepest forest you can imagine, there was a Little Cocoa Bean. Scattered on the ground with his brothers and sisters, still covered in the sticky white pulp that is the fruit of the cocoa pod.”
Using the story of Chocolate, we deliver entertaining educational experiences to Primary age children at school and in their homes. These experiences meet National Curriculum requirements across a range of subjects from science, history, geography, home economics and particularly PHSE. Our workshops help children to talk about challenging life experiences and find positive ways to respond to them.
Set in Central America at the time of the Spanish conquest, The Little Cocoa Bean tells the story of a talking cocoa bean and his animal friends. The characters explain the history of the Mayan and Aztec civilizations as well as exploring themes of purpose, friendship, self-belief, feeling different, estrangement and reconcilation, and inner experience.
Little Cocoa Bean invites you to join his club, receiving activity packs, suggestions on exciting and interesting things to do, and regular updates. Members of the club get to try new new materials first and special offers on all of our programmes. We also offer regular events for members to take part in.
